AFRINYPE LAUNCHES YAE PROJECT TO EMPOWER AFRICAN YOUTH ENTREPRENUERS
African Network of Youth Policy Experts (AFRINYPE) in partnership with STARS-LIKE-US Europe has launched the Young Africa Enterprise Project (YAEP) which is a pioneering initiative designed to empower young African entrepreneurs and catalyse economic growth across the continent. The innovative project aims to harness the potential of Africa's youth by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities necessary to thrive in the global marketplace.
YAEP will commence as an online programme in July 2024, welcoming 500 talented youths from across Africa in the First Cohort (2024/2025). The entrepreneurship programme will offer comprehensive training, mentorship, and networking opportunities to young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 35. By leveraging on digital technologies, YAEP will overcome geographical barriers, ensuring that participants from diverse backgrounds can access its transformative resources.
YAEP is a response to addictive migration of Africas young people to Europe and other Western countries in search of greener pastures by all possible means. African youth have enormous talents and will be encouraged to look inward and harness their potentials in SMEs as catalyst for personal and national economic rebirth.
YAEP will foster entrepreneurship culture on young people of the continent, inspiring them to pursue innovative business ventures and create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their communities. The project will forge strategic partnerships with reputable business entities, investors, and stakeholders committed to supporting Africa's young entrepreneurs and driving long-term economic development.
YAEP will also host first ever youth-backed African regional business summit and expo in 2025 as part of the activities marking end of the first cohort. By the year 2027, YAEP is projected to have produced about 20,000 young entrepreneurs who are well equipped to have presence in the global marketplace. African youths who met the eligibility requirements can apply via
